Most companies envision seeing their fleet of trucks portrayed as icons on a map when they think of GPS vehicle tracking systems. For some, that is not enough. The problem is in addition to detailed reports and alerts, many fleet managers need to monitor specific inputs from their vehicles and equipment. The solution? Auxiliary or PTO inputs.
There are many applications where auxiliary inputs can come in handy. Let's say you have a tow truck company, your GPS system will tell you what route your driver takes, but how do you know if they picked up a car and put that money in their pocket? With the auxiliary input linked to the tow bed, now the owner knows each time and for how long the bed was engaged. Eliminating any driver misuse.
Auxiliary inputs can monitor any standard electrical circuit for on/off activity ad run duration. Another common example is seatbelt monitoring. Connecting the auxiliary line to the warning light or the seatbelt circuit itself shows tracks the on/off activity of the seatbelt circuit. Even though some people try to "outsmart" the system by clicking the seatbelt and putting it behind them once in the morning, the reports will show the truck stopped throughout the day, and the seatbelt remained buckled.
These are just a small sample of the different ways we can monitor your two most expensive assets; your employees and your vehicles. In today's economy, you need to know where your money is going and how your employee's decisions will affect YOUR bottom-line.

Safety Reduces Workman Comp Claims
Today, many companies are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars for accident claims that could have been avoided simply by following a safety protocol that would help reduce injury and or accidents. Mandatory seatbelt use is now law in many states across the nation. With hefty fines many drivers are now buckling up, but many still don't. For companies that have vehicles on the road, that's a problem.
Companies want to cut costs any way they can these days, and one area focus is safety. Companies that have safety programs in place will have fewer workers comp claims, improved productivity and a better bottom-line. If you don't have a safety program in place it's time to take a long hard look at the risk you are taking. Start small, even little things can make a big difference. Set an example as the owner or boss. Get your employees involved and motivated; involved employees are more likely to follow your lead. Reward employees who make safety a priority, after all, they are saving you.
I know that may sound like a cliche, but safety is everyone's concern.

Eagle Home Medical Corp., NC
With my vehicles being in San Antonio Texas, I am now able to see what they are doing all day. In thirty days I have identified enough time card padding to pay for the system. One employee was charging me to drive my vehicle to and from work. This alone was costing me $528 per month! I have also learned that people are going home for two hour lunches and spending too much time at customer locations. What once took all day is now only taking six hours.
